Experiences with PBL
Blending PBL and traditional lecturing - During my research, I found that students prefer entering PBL with a higher level of prior knowledge e.g. covering most theory first in the lecturing mode before doing a (project orientated) PBL problem. Students who entered the (project orientated) PBL problem without the prior knowledge also manage to solve the problem and enjoyed it as well, but they became negative when the related theory were covered in the lecturing way afterwards. Students enjoy challenging problems.
